West Rhyl Primary Care Centre, North Wales
Client Objectives
- Create high-quality, modern premises for this patient-centred GP practice and other users
- Regenerate a key town centre site next to Rhyl railway station with a landmark new building
Development Solution
- Modern building providing a step change in terms of space, clinical standards and patient and staff environment
- Development work completed in two phases allowing the practice to remain in its existing location while the new premises were built on the extended site
- Ground-floor clinical accommodation
- The modern practice building provides three-and-a-half times more space than the previous building, built in the late 1940s
- Apollo commissioned graphic art and signage featuring local landmarks such as the Forth and Clyde Canal and River Clyde to give the premises a sense of place within the community
- A montage of artefacts from the old practice building is displayed on the wall of the new premises as a reminder of its past history
Result
The delivery of such an iconic community building owes much to Apollo whose personal and friendly service, attention to detail and the high quality of the finish has, we believe, given us the best public building in Rhyl. The fresh approach to the sea-themed interior design work contributes to the excellent working environment, which is a pleasure for both staff and patients. We are delighted with the building which was achieved by the outstanding professional approach of Apollo throughout the whole process.
