Apollo Continued Support of Art.
Apollo Capital Projects have always believed in the benefits arts have in the healing process and where possible introduce local art into our projects. At the Cloughmore Medical Centre Development Apollo commissioned Ruth Mclees to produce several pieces to adorn the glazed sections in the main waiting areas on ground and first floor. 14 individual water colours were produced, photographed and set to vinyl which was applied to the glass by Morgan Consult. The results provide semi-transparent artwork depicting vistas of the Splott area of Cardiff both present and past.
Apollo are now continuing our support by sponsoring an exhibition and sale of the originals and prints at Gallery 10 in Cardiff. The exhibition commences on 6th March 2014 until 29th March 2014 and proceeds of the sale will go to Wales Air Ambulance.
Rob James, Apollo’s Operations Director said “the reaction to the art installed at Cloughmore has been great. Visitors who are not even patients have visited just to see the artwork installed. Art is an important element of any scheme for Apollo and we worked closely with EMP Projects our arts coordinator to ensure the work was appropriate, local and relevant. This continued support and sale of the works will now benefit Wales Air Ambulance which is an important service in the principality.”
