Hub development framework Glasgow

Established in April 2012, hub West Scotland is a private sector development company who work in partnership with the public sector in the west of Scotland, serving 1.2m people. The aim of the partnership is to build new community facilities whilst providing the best possible value for money to the public purse. Their construction projects support local communities by creating local employment and educational opportunities.

Hub’s approach is focused on collaborative partnership working, providing an environment where public sector partners can work together, offering the opportunity to investigate joint delivery of projects. Hub provides a quicker and more accessible method to deliver construction projects for the public sector, removing the requirement for lengthy OJEU procurement. Hub developments promote opportunities to small and supported businesses in the delivery of public sector facilities.

Apollo was one of two founding private sector partners in hub West Scotland, bringing their health and community infrastructure experience to bear on the partnership. Johnny Dryburgh, Apollo’s Chief Executive, sits on the main board of hub West Scotland. Apollo deliver project development and project management services on health projects, as well as investing in revenue funded health schemes.

To date £35m of health projects have been completed, £35m are on site, with £45m in development, there is a substantial forward pipeline. Projects range from specialist care homes, to mental health facilities, with a focus on large integrated primary health and social care hubs.

The wider hub West business has under development, construction or completed over £375m of community infrastructure projects, since 2012.
