Green light for new £6m Ipswich medical centre

Apollo Capital Projects Developments’ proposals for a brand new state-of-the-art medical centre in north east Ipswich have been given the green light this month by town planners.
The new 2,100 sq m Two Rivers Medical Centre will house two existing GP practices, Lattice Barn and Woodbridge Road surgeries, and support over 25,000 patients. Apollo, which will invest over £6 million in the facility, is working with the two GP practices, NHS and Ipswich Borough Council to deliver the scheme.
The new centre, will provide a pharmacy, 25 consulting rooms and a training centre for new GPs. The development which is being built on a brownfield site, has been designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent environmental performance rating.
“We’re delighted to have been given the go-ahead on this much-needed new health facility which will improve the health services of 25,000 patients in East Ipswich,” says Rob James, Managing Director of Apollo Capital Projects Developments. “It’s been a great collaborative effort with our partners to get it through planning approval and we’re now all looking forward to starting construction and bringing the project to life.”
Construction work is due to start next spring with doors opening to patients in spring 2016.
